Photo organizational systems

Students will develop a system for processing, storing, organizing, and naming digital photos as they get taken by photographers.

Students will look at the photo printed by the New York Post of a man who had been pushed in front of an oncoming subway and discuss whether a newspaper should print such pictures.

Students will examine pictures of themselves and of their friends to see what common mistakes are made when taking portraits of others.

In this lesson, students will showcase what they have learned by taking a quiz over the skills from this unit.

Students will examine different sources of light in photography to decide how lighting affects a photo’s impact.

Students will discuss the ethical issues that surround using tools like Adobe Photoshop to edit a photo, including looking at examples and discussing how much editing is too much.

During this 3-day lesson, students will review the skills they have learned over this unit.

In this two-day lesson, students will play a game of Snowball Fight to review history & ethics information.

History of Photojournalism: Assessment

In this lesson, students will take the quiz to assess their knowledge of history of photojournalism.
