I see students all the time taking full 15-minute interviews and dropping them into the timeline of their Adobe Premiere project. They then select the razor tool and start cutting away – removing all the questions from the reporter and deleting soundbites they know they aren’t going to use.
A much more efficient way to go about building your story and selecting good soundbites and B-roll is to use the in and out points in the Source window. Check out this video to see how it works and help your staff save themselves some time in the editing process.
