What our readers think
It goes without saying that I always love it when a new issue of Communication: Journalism Education Today hits my mailbox. Not only is it an opportunity to block a little time in my schedule that week to sit with coffee and a magazine away from a screen for some self-paced professional development, but — this month in particular— I just have to take a minute to shout out the current issue.
My yearbook class switches staff at semester, which can create a feeling of never enough time for staff community building, program training, journalism teaching, and production. But last week and this, I used these two pieces to help: Bradley’s one pager on photo credits, and the Elizabeth Luna / Jim Jordan page design spreads.
Truly, the cherry on top of a magazine that runs deep — and a moment of tremendous appreciation for the colleagues who make time to contribute.

Never doubt the work you do.
Your social media share of the credit page from CJE was so timely and helpful today.
Some staff at our school are launching a 'sports media club' this spring without making time to loop in the newspaper and yearbook adviser (or students)—and today they shared a whole bunch of screenshots of our publications' photos on social media. Students who created the photos brought the video to my attention.
Your page gave my perspective credit. They always take expert sources more seriously.

I just got my copy of C:JET, which is always a highlight, of course! Thank you for years and years of leadership with this magazine and for all of the pieces involved in developing it and promoting it to our members.
Specifically, I was so surprised to find a story about a session I taught at JEAai in 2022, and then as I read the article, I was so relieved and pleased to see the writer had done such a good job keeping my session takeaways in context. Sadly so many people misinterpret sessions, miss the point, take things out of context, etc. or don’t really know how to build an article in a way that it would be helpful to other advisers. Jodee Johnson did such a great job! I’m not saying this because I care about any type of promotion of my own work, but it is truly rewarding and beneficial when articles like these reflect all the things falling into place. I am grateful the session was worthwhile in some way. I had forgotten all about it, and now a few years later it might help someone else.
BTW, the visuals included with the package offer great variety. I don’t know whether you selected those or Jodee did, but again, well done.
