Multimedia Journalism iBook Released

Los Angeles-based multimedia journalist and Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism professor Richard Koci Hernandez recently released an iBook reviewing the latest apps and gear for mobile journalism.

Mobile Reporting Field Guide was created in collaboration with his students as part of an 8-week course.  The ibook includes reviews, samples and how-to videos.  The core of the tool, of course, is the iPhone.

The book reviews photo, video and audio recording apps, external lenses and microphones, and stabilization tools like tripods and monopods for the iPhone.

Download the free iBook, and visit his website, lofimode for even more tips and info on iphoneography and multimedia journalism using the iPhone.  Note that the iBook can only be viewed on an iPad.

For more insight into his photojournalism work and philosophy, check out these two articles about him in the Los Angeles Times and New York Times.  You can see his latest work on Instagram where he uses the handle @koci .
