This tripod is a nice, sturdy one that should do the job for mobile and DSLR video

Through the years I’ve had lots of different tripods in the room. Some have worked much better than others.

Some are too flimsy.

Some are too heavy.

Some are too small.

Some are just awkward to use.

In recent years I’ve come to like these tripods on Amazon. I like them for a few different reasons:

  1. They are generally less than $35
  2. They work well with both DSLR cameras and mobile devices
  3. They extend to a height that works for situations students need
  4. It comes with an phone attachment and two tripod sleds
  5. They stand up to wear better than most cheaper counterparts

While these tripods might not be able to handle larger video cameras and will succumb to abuse, they hold up pretty well if taken care of and serve the purpose needed by most high school journalists.

Definitely give them, or comparable ones, a look if you’re out shopping for tripods for your room or if you’re wanting to pass on a sturdy option for students looking to have a tripod of their own.
