JEA Curriculum Highlight: Critiquing Your Website for Awards

If you’re looking for a nice 45-60 minute activity for your staff to close the year out, give the JEA Curriculum team’s “Critiquing Your Website for Awards” lesson a look.

While the lesson can be done anytime throughout the year, I always like having underclassmen do this at the end of the year when things are winding down and deadlines have passed. It gives them some time to think about the website and why some things are like they are — and it helps them to see a few holes that need fixed or dream about what could be next year.

In the lesson, students will work to understand current trends in web design, compare their own published site to others and will hopefully suggest/make some changes to their own site based on their comparisons. In this lesson, you’ll find a slideshow, handouts, links and much more.

This curriculum is available to all JEA members. To access the curriculum, you must be logged in to the JEA Curriculum site. Once you are, you can access this lesson here: Critiquing Your Website for Awards.
