Topping other teams in its knowledge of current events, pop culture, journalism and civics, a four-person team from duPont Manual High School won the National Journalism Quiz Bowl April 12 at the JEA/NSPA National High School Journalism Convention in San Diego.

The team of Kinsey Ball, Shea Dobson, Jack Grossman and Joshua Svoboda first had to qualify for the buzzer rounds by taking a test April 11.

Liz Palmer, CJE, and Amy Ritchie are the students’ journalism advisers.

The team from Rock Bridge Senior High School in Columbia, Mo., advised by Robin Stover, was runner-up.
