A screenshot from an email from Eastern Illinois University that says As a future staff member of Eastern Illinois University's student media, it is imperative that you recognize the journalistic ethical dilemmas you will likely face. This required training will provide you with an overview of common ethics scenarios, some of which occurred at actual college publications, so that you can clearly identify them and then begin to take correct action. Work through this training at your own pace in order to gain a full understanding of each issue. The learning outcome: You will be able to identify when a journalistic ethical dilemma is present, in order to start a discussion about its solution, to benefit the credibility of both ElU student media and the profession of journalism. NOTE: You MUST print out the certificate at the end of this training and provide it to your editor before you can publish in ElU student media.
