Advocacy

Advocacy is one of JEA’s core values and is a demonstration of our mission to support free and responsible scholastic journalism. You can read our statements and policies on our about who we are page. We realize journalism teachers and advisers face a host of issues and we do not purport to address all of those issues here. We would like to provide a place that curates some of the legislative activities and topics impacting the scholastic journalism community. This is in addition to the long-standing press rights resources.

JEA tracks a range of legislative and legal issues, looking at policy matters in terms of their potential impact on our community. The JEA board carefully chooses which letters to sign such as those shared here.
