The deadline to apply for the Fall 2025 Outreach Academy is Sept. 15, 2025.

Complete the information below to apply for the JEA Outreach Academy, a Journalism Education Association initiative to promote both diversity amongst journalism educators and JEA membership growth.

The Outreach Academy is a free, intensive diversity seminar for publications advisers who have five years or fewer advising experience and/or teach in schools traditionally underrepresented in JEA membership, especially low-income, urban or rural schools.

The next Outreach Academy is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, during the Fall JEA/NSPA National High School Journalism Convention in Nashville. The seminar will take place at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center.
