The deadline to apply for the Fall 2026 Outreach Academy is Feb. 15, 2026.

Complete the information below to apply for the JEA Outreach Academy, a Journalism Education Association initiative to promote both diversity amongst journalism educators and JEA membership growth.

The Outreach Academy is a free, intensive diversity seminar for publications advisers who have five years or fewer advising experience and/or teach in schools traditionally underrepresented in JEA membership, especially low-income, urban or rural schools.

The next Outreach Academy is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026, during the Spring JEA/NSPA National High School Journalism Convention in Minneapolis. The seminar will take place at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
