JEA has a small but mighty staff team, and we continue to invest in the staff support system. After evaluating the association’s structure and needs, we reported that the board approved a new member engagement strategist position as part of the 2024-25 budget.

Davonte Longmire headshotWe are excited that we have hired Davonte Longmire to fill this new role. Longmire is an experienced digital marketing and creative professional with approximately 12 years of experience in multi-channel marketing, fundraising and conference exhibitions. He will be planning and executing membership recruitment and retention efforts, developing non-dues revenue sources, and designing omnichannel marcom content.

Around the time that we were interviewing for the new position, assistant director Lindsay Porter announced that she will be leaving JEA by the end of November. Porter will be stepping down as assistant director after four years of contributing to JEA in a variety of ways, including improving convention planning and overall communications. She was a behind-the-scenes force creating the virtual programming that kept conventions and other programs alive during the pandemic. We look forward to building on the significant program organization and improvements she has made.

Amber James headshotWe are also thrilled to announce Amber James is joining JEA as events and programs manager. James is a marketing, communications and events specialist with several years of experience as a marketing manager and sales manager. She will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to manage event programming and a variety of project areas.

Longmire’s and James’ skills and experience are a great addition to our organization. They will be such an asset to JEA and integral to the success of the association.

We thank Porter for her dedicated service and welcome the new staff to the JEA team.
