I stumbled upon this 2011 post a few weeks ago and thought it was a great succinct list of tips that is still very relevant today and can easily be shared with students. The list is limited to 10 tips and each has a couple graphs of explanation that explains the tip sufficiently. Westbrook includes a range of advice from the need to shoot in sequences and use a tripod to play to video’s strengths and prioritize sound. You can find Westbrook’s post on his blog “10 common video storytelling mistakes (and how to avoid them).”
