Use SNO’s Live Update Tool to add chronologically based-updates to stories

Over the summer SNO unveiled its new live coverage tool, which is available to all sites that have the Site Booster add-on. This tool allows a team of reporters to cover an event and post their updates to the same story without having to edit the original content.

The updates will automatically display above or below the original post’s content, and once the first update is pushed out a button will appear at the top of the post alerting your readers that live coverage has occurred on the post within the last two hours. Once two hours have passed since the last update that live coverage button will no longer appear, but all of the updates will remain visible.

We pushed out this tool and were drafting the newsletter announcement when we discovered that the staff at wjpitch.com noticed the new option and used it to cover a school board meeting over the summer.

This tool should help enhance your coverage of sporting events, pep rallies, assemblies, and any breaking news that occurs on your campus. The SNO staff is very excited to see all of the innovative uses you and your staffs think of!!
