On Thursday, Mashable posted an article giving casual Snapchat users some tips to help supercharge their storytelling skills. The post is focused on tips for making your snaps a bit more interesting. It’s centered around telling a good story at the US Open or other sporting events, but I think the tips are pretty universal for any good story on Snapchat. It’s great to see so many high school staffs experimenting with Snapchat. The problem I see for most is that they aren’t telling stories with their accounts. To have a strong presence in that medium and to stand out, you need to be telling stories and be true to the medium, whether that story is 1 snap or 11.
Check the Mashable article out. Here are some of the tips the article hits on in more detail:
- Bitmoji Makes Things Better
- The Zoom Function is Your Friend
- Slow-Motion the Action
- Emojis Bring Your Snap to Life
- Take Some Panning Shots of the Court
- The People Make the Party, So Snap Them
- Save Your Snaps to Memories and/or Your Camera Roll
