Storify was a great tool for journalists to create web content and stories curating social media posts and other online work from the web. However, Storify went away and I moved to recommend giving Wakelet a look and here are six reasons why:
- It allows you to import Storify content you’ve already created directly into Wakelet. It’s so easy, you can do this with a couple clicks of the mouse and it keeps all your old Storify content from getting lost forever.
- It’s free.
- It is fairly easy to pull in content by connecting your Twitter account or just using direct links to public social media posts and Youtube videos.
- You can add comments, quotes and really another other type of written content within the piece.
- There are browser extension options that can make adding content to your stories even easier.
- It offers three different view modes which I’ve showcased below.
If you liked Storify, I think you’ll find Wakelet a comparable alternative. Wondering what kinds of stories you can cover with an application like Storify or Wakelet? Check out this piece the FHNtoday.com team did a few years ago on 20 Reasons Why School Should Have Been Cancelled.
Here’s the piece I created on Wakelet. You can access it directly here.
