JEA Curriculum Highlight: Understanding Copyright and Creative Commons

One of the slides in the presentation helps students use an advanced Google image search to find photos available to use.

Looking for a lesson to get students to understand copyright and Creative Commons a bit better? The JEA Curriculum has one for you.

The lesson spans 3 days, during which time students will research copyright, fair use and various license types and will create an infographic to explains key concepts and guidelines.

The lesson includes a slideshow covering attribution of photos and images as well as a rubric covering copyright and fair use. Throughout the lesson, students will explore a variety of questions from “What is Creative Commons?” to  “How do you find ‘free to use’ images online?”

This curriculum is available to all JEA members. To access the curriculum, you must be logged in to the JEA Curriculum site. Once you are, you can access this lesson here: Understanding Copyright and Creative Commons.
