Heading to Kansas City this Fall? How about presenting a session about Web or other Digital Media?
The fall JEA/NSPA convention will be in Kansas Nov. 11-14. If you’re planning to attend, we’d love to have you help those in attendance by speaking about the topic so many are wanting help with these days: Digital Media. This can be anything from Web sites and broadcasting to multimedia or Google Docs. You could do a session on programs like Issuu or you could host a session on staff structure of a digital newsroom. You could do a session by yourself. Pair up with a friend. Or even organize a panel for the session. We’d just love your help to help others, in what will be a great weekend out West.
You can grab a speaker proposal form at the JEA Web site. There, you will find the form to download and instructions to return it. Please don’t fail to fill out a form just because you don’t feel like an ‘expert’ in the area. So many people are new to this arena that we all have something we can teach each other if we’ve been dabbling in it for just a few weeks. Also, the conference isn’t until April, so you have plenty of time to feel comfortable with whatever you sign up to speak about.
We are more than happy to help you come up with a topic to speak about or answer any questions you might have. Just email us at info@jeadigitalmedia.org and we’d be glad to talk you through things. Heck, we may even ask you to write something for us to share with others.
While I am making a plea here for digital media topics, the convention does need speakers on a variety of topics. So, if digital media just isn’t your thing, consider filling out the form and doing a session on something else.
If you plan to do a session on a digital media topic, please let us know as we are currently working on the convention promo brochure and we’d love to work your session in.
