Matti Haapoja does a nice job in this video of giving videographers a few of the basic mistakes to avoid when filming. The tips range from ISO and frames per second settings to avoiding shaky footage and telling a story.
The video is less than 10 minutes and I see it as something that would be a nice class starter for 10 days. While the video itself could easily be watched in its entirety to start a class hour, consider showing one tip at the start of a class period. Have a brief discussion with students about the tip and let them ask questions, then move on with your regular class after that. Do the next tip the following day.
By doing one tip a day for 10 days, it might be more likely that the tips stick because you are just focusing on one at a time rather than overwhelming them with too many at once.
