3 Places to Find Premium Responsive WordPress Themes for Your News site

Theme sample from ColorlabsIf you’re looking for a new theme for your site or wanting to make your site more mobile friendly, a responsive theme is something you will want to look into as it helps keep a consistant look for your site, no matter the platform.

There are a lot of great places to buy to buy themes, but be careful, not all premium theme sites are built equally. Some sites, like Themeforest, sell themes made by different freelance designers. While you can get some great themes there, it’s often hit or miss on product updates or support. Through the years, I’ve found three sites that I recommend the masses turning to when they are looking for premium WordPress themes. They push out updates to their themes as needed and offer some good support in the form of theme documentation, tutorials and user forums.  nIn the past 9 months, these three have also worked to incorporate many responsive themes into the selections they offer customers.

WooThemes – Currently they have 23 responsive themes to choose from, but only a handful would probably work for a student news site. Theme pricing starts at $70 and is a one-time fee. With that package, you get the ability to download two other premium themes from their site for free.

Solostream – A great site that offers numerous free and premium responsive themes to choose from. Quite a few would work as news sites. While they have a variety of pricing options, you can get all of their themes for $79. While you may think you only need one, it’s nice when sites offer deals like this. Your staff may get a theme they think they are going to like, but then realize it doesn’t actually work. By getting access to all the themes on a site, staffs have a bit more flexibility if their initial plans don’t work out.

Colorlabs – This site offers dozens of themes that are responsive, many of which would work great for news sites. Themes here start as little as $25-$30

These are three places I like. What are some other places you’d recommend?
