The Journalism Education Association, together with the Society of Professional Journalists and 59 other journalism organizations, has sent a letter to President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence to request a meeting with them to discuss topics relating to journalists’ access to government.  The coalition seeks “to engage in a public discussion with [them] about the Trump Administration’s commitment to the free flow of information from the White House and all federal government, to the American people.”

This letter comes as a continuation of a series of letters the coalition has sent to the Obama administration, in its efforts to address specific issues in how the administration works with the media, that they identify as deterrents to government transparency.
