Registration pricing set for fall convention

Registration pricing set for fall convention

After announcing a return to in-person programming for next year’s conventions, JEA and NSPA have been evaluating the unique needs of the JEA/NSPA National High School Journalism Convention in Philadelphia, Nov. 11-14, 2021. Having completed pandemic compliance training, executive directors of JEA and NSPA are both certified Pandemic Compliance Advisers and equipped to modify the convention model for a safe and meaningful experience.

To account for abounding variables, which add to the convention expenses, JEA and NSPA have worked to mitigate the increase in costs to attendees. Several convention expenditures are fixed, which is a unique challenge since fewer attendees are expected, while new pandemic-compliant measures will also increase overall expenses. To implement safety protocols and provide a rich learning environment at the convention, new rates are in place for the fall 2021 convention specifically. JEA and NSPA boards approved the rates.

For the fall 2021 NHSJC, registration will be charged per attendee. Registration will open September 2021.

JEA/NSPA member rateNonmember rate
Early bird pricing$125$175
Regular pricing$145$195

JEA and NSPA will reevaluate the registration fee structure with each future convention to adjust prices commensurate with location-specific variables.
