For the better part of a century, the Journalism Education Association and the National Scholastic Press Association have partnered to provide programming to the scholastic journalism community. JEA wants to pledge its convention partner its support as NSPA seeks a new executive director.

“Diana Mitsu Klos has been so gracious in her support of JEA, its mission and its people,” JEA President Mark Newton, MJE, said. “We’re so thankful for her service to scholastic journalism, and we wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.”

The announcement from NSPA comes as JEA has announced it is seeking letters of interest for its own executive director. However, both associations have seasoned headquarters staffs and work closely with hundreds of volunteers to ensure programming such as the National High School Journalism Convention run smoothly.

“We look forward to working with the existing staff, including Laura Widmer in her new role as interim executive director, and the future leadership at NSPA, and we’re excited about the terrific JEA/NSPA conventions in Indianapolis, Seattle and beyond,” Newton said.
